Kelvington Capital Project
Kelvington and area residents marked the completion of the Kelvington integrated heatlh faccilty capital project in March 2017 with the completion of the renovations to the Kelvindell Lodge. The new Kelvington & Area Hospital, which includes acute care, a primary health medical clinic and emergency services, opened in June 2016.
In February of 2009, replacement of the Kelvindell Lodge was among 13 capital projects approved through the governments
Ready for Growth initiative. The Ministry of Health approved a shift in the scope of the Kelvington long term care project to an integrated facility in July 2012 to address the unique needs of the population of the community.
The Kelvington project saw the replacement of the aged Kelvington Hospital and renovation of the existing Kelvindell Lodge. The new integrated facility includes 45 long term care beds, seven acute care beds, seven multi-purpose clinic rooms for primary care and a family room.
