The Kelsey Trail Health Region encompasses a large geographic area of approximately 47,397 square kilometers and stretches from Cumberland House on the northeast corner to Smeaton on the northwest corner; to St. Brieux on the southwest corner and Kelvington on the southeast. The health region has an estimated population of slightly less than one person per kilometer.
The broad geographic area that the region serves includes the larger communities of Nipawin, Melfort and Tisdale plus approximately 30 other towns and villages, 21 rural municipalities and five First Nation communities.
The industries within the region are primarily agricultural-related, along with renewable resource industries such as lumber/logging and tourism.
